2013-2014
  • 35th Annual Telly Awards - The Anaheim Public Utilities was honored with the Bronze Award for “Tree Planting Guide." The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions.
2008-2009
  • 2009 Magnum Opus Award – The Anaheim Public Utilities was honored with the Gold Award for the Best Public Utilities Publication for its “Top Sustainable Accomplishments” brochure.
  • 29th Annual Telly Awards - The Anaheim Public Utilities was honored with the Bronze Award for “How Water Gets to Anaheim,” a Water Conservation PSA. The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions.
  • American Society of Civil Engineers, Orange County Branch Annual Awards 2008 - An award was received in the Sustainable Project category, a new category, for the Energy Field Park Project, City of Anaheim.
  • APEX Awards for Publication Excellence - The Department received the Grand Award for Design and Illustration for the “Top Sustainable Accomplishments” brochure.
  • Hermes Creative Awards - The department was awarded a Platinum award for design and Gold award for overall publication quality for the “Top Sustainable Accomplishments” brochure.
  • Siemens Sustainable Community Award, 2009 - Anaheim was selected as the winner for the midsize community category. The awards are sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC). This is the second annual Siemens Sustainable Community Awards recognizing public-private coalitions for taking on the 21st challenge of sustainable development.
  • The Communicator Awards of Distinction – Anaheim Public Utilities won awards for:
    • “Do Your Part,” a Water Conservation PSA
    • “For Your Home,” a PSA designed to help customers use water and energy wisely
    • “Who We Are"
  • Tree Line USA Award - The Department was named a Tree Line USA utility in recognition of national leadership in caring for trees while meeting service objectives. The National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters sponsor Tree Line USA.
  • Videographer Award - The department received an Award of Distinction in recognition of commercial urging Water Conservation by Anaheim consumers.
2007-2008
  • Ava Award - The Department received 1 Platinum and 2 Gold awards for Public Service Announcement.
  • MarCom Awards - The Department received the Gold award, honoring excellence in marketing and communications, in the Annual Report Writing Category for its 2006 Annual Report titled “The Daily Resource," as well as the Platinum award in marketing and promotions for “Promotional Items."
  • National League of Cities Award - The Department received the “Best City Practices” award for its website and was listed in a special section of the National League of Cities’ website.
  • Tree Line USA Award - The Department was named a Tree Line USA utility in recognition of national leadership in caring for trees while meeting service objectives. The National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters sponsor Tree Line USA.
2006-2007
  • 28th Annual Telly Awards - The Anaheim Public Utilities was honored with the Bronze Award for a Water Conservation PSA.
  • APEX Award for Publication Excellence
  • California Municipal Utilities Association (CUMA) Best Management Practices Award - Anaheim was the recipient of the 2007 Community Service/ Resource Efficiency Award for "Water broom Distribution" in the Best Management Practices category for a small utility. The awards were presented at CMUA's Annual Conference in San Diego, CA on March 30.
  • E.F Scattergood System Achievement Award - The Department received the E.F. Scattergood System Achievement Award from APPA. The award is the most prestigious given to a municipal utility in the electric industry for service to utility customers and promotion of the values of public power. Anaheim Public Utilities’ entry was recognized for Park Substation – and its contribution to helping the Tiger Woods Learning Center become one of the most energy efficient educational centers in the nation. Anaheim previously won this prestigious APPA award in 1999 and 1976.
  • Hermes Creative Awards- Anaheim Public Utilities received a Gold Award for the “Anaheim Green Power” PSA.
  • The Videographer Awards - Award of Excellence in Video Productions/Informational for the “Anaheim Green Power” PSA and Award of Distinction in Government/City for the “True Commitment” PSA.
  • Tree Line USA Award - The Department was named a Tree Line USA utility in recognition of national leadership in caring for trees while meeting service objectives. The National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters sponsor Tree Line USA.
2005-2006
  • 2005 Community Service Resource Efficiency Awards - CMUA - On March 4, 2005, at the 73rd Annual California Municipal Utility Association Conference, the Department received an award for its submittal of an application for the CMUA';s 2005 Community Service/ Resource Efficiency Awards. The award was given for its entry, “Small Business Energy Management Assistance Program” in the award category of Innovative and comprehensive approaches to usage of Public Benefit Funds - Large Utilities.
  • Annual Report Award of Excellence - The Department’s 2005 Annual Report received APPA’s highest recognition for overall publication quality - for the second consecutive year.
  • Tree Line USA Award - The Department was named a Tree Line USA utility in recognition of national leadership in caring for trees while meeting service objectives. The National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters sponsor Tree Line USA. The Communicator Awards – The Department received Awards of Distinction (projects that exceed industry standards in quality and excellence) in an international competition honoring excellence in visual communications for:
    • The Anaheim Green Power video in the category of External Communication/Self Promotion
    • The Anaheim Water/Lenain video in the category of Government/City
    • The Green Power website in the category of Multi-Media Streaming Video
    The Department also received an Honorable Mention award for our Anaheim Power/CTG video in the category of Employee Communication.
2004-2005
  • Annual Report Award of Excellence - The Department’s 2004 Annual Report received APPA’s highest recognition for overall publication quality, exhibiting excellent writing, design, photography, organization, and creativity.
  • Tree Line USA Award - The Department was named a Tree Line USA utility in recognition of national leadership in caring for trees while meeting service objectives. The National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters sponsor Tree Line USA.
2003-2004
  • APPA Community Service Award - The Department was recognized by the American Public Power Association (APPA) for its support of the community that it serves- good neighbor activities that demonstrate the commitment of the utility and its employees beyond the reliable electric service it provides to the community at competitive rates.
