Teacher Loan Cards

Benefits of the Card
We have a special Teacher Loan Card for you to use in addition to your own personal library card. This will enable you to borrow the library materials you need to share with students in your class. The card will be issued to you using your name, address and school identification. This card has privileges that are different from your personal library card.
  • Holds - Free, as long as items are picked up
  • Items checked out on this card cannot be renewed
  • Limit of 3 books on the same topic
  • Loan period - 28 days
  • Maximum number of items out - 30
  • Only single copies of the same book may be borrowed at a time
  • Privileges apply to free material only (Rental items must be checked out on a personal card.)
  • Privileges expire in 1 year, at which time school ID and/or proof of Anaheim residency can be shown to reactivate the privileges for another year
As with your personal library card, you are responsible for the items checked out on the card and for any overdue, lost, or damaged fines that are incurred. To obtain teacher loan card please present school identification showing that you are a teacher who is either teaching at an Anaheim school or is living in Anaheim. Proof of current home address and other individual contact information is also required.

Parent/Guardian's Consent
Youth ages 17 and under must have a parent or guardian's consent to apply for a library card. The parent or guardian must provide the proper identification and sign the library card. All suitable books and juvenile tapes may be checked out on this card. Young Adults, ages 15 and older may apply for a young adult library card using their student ID and proof of current address (such as mail). This card entitles young adults to borrow all materials except "R" rated videos.

There is a 30 day limit of 5 items per card. After 30 days, if a patron's record is in good standing, the number of items per card will be raised to 35. There are limits when checking out certain items:
  • 3 books in the Juvenile Special Loan category
  • 3 books on a specific subject
  • 3 new books
  • 3 rental items
If you lose your library card, please notify the library at once. The fee for replacing a lost card is 50¢ ($1 for an adult card). Please treat library cards and materials with care.

Most materials may be renewed 2 times, either in person, online, or by telephone at 714-765-1775.
