Since his election in 2010, Mayor Tom Tait has been working to bring Anaheim residents together as a unified and beautiful community through daily Acts of Kindness. To find out more about Mayor Tait’s inspiration and goals for Anaheim, read the Welcome to Kindville article from the August 14, 2013 edition of the OC Register.
For the past 7 years "Make Kindness Contagious" has been celebrated in Anaheim, to draw awareness as to how an act of kindness can transform both the giver and the receiver. To attract even greater attention to acts of selflessness, Mayor Tait and the Anaheim City Council proclaimed February 2012 as "Make Kindness Contagious Month." Mayor Tait is calling upon residents, businesses and guests to draw on this theme daily, and to set the tone for building a culture of kindness in Anaheim throughout the year.
Natasha Sarah Jaievsky
The "Make Kindness Contagious" theme was first introduced in 2004, when then-Councilmember Tait was inspired by Natasha Sarah Jaievsky, a young Anaheim resident who sought to be kind to family, friends, and strangers. The Make Kindness Contagious logo is, in fact, her drawing. In 2002, a tragic accident claimed Natasha's life at age 6, but the memory of her actions and kind spirit remain an inspiration.
