STR Hardship Extension
The deadline for filing a Hardship Extension application has been extended to Monday, April 10, 2017. On January 10, 2017, the City Council approved the second reading of an ordinance that gives the Planning Director the authority to extend the deadline for filing Hardship extension applications. There has been no changes to the Hardship Extension application or process. Below you will find the information outlining the Hardship Extension Application process.

Application(s) and supporting documentation must be submitted on 8 ½” x 11”, unstapled paper.
a. Part 1 – Name and Address of Short‐Term Rental Property
b. Part 2 – Short‐Term Rental Operator Information
c. Part 3 – Property Owner Information
d. Part 4 – Required Documents for Submittal with Application
e. Part 5 – Items to be Initialed by Primary Property Owner
f. Part 6 – Certification (Signature, Print Name and Title, Date)

a. Provide all verification documentation. i.e., escrow documents, title, closing statement, etc.
a. All verification documentation must be printed on 8 ½” by 11”, unstapled paper.

3. Application Fee.
a. Submit non‐refundable application fee of $ 1,086.00. Make check payable to the City of Anaheim.
4. Application Submittal.
a. Applications and supporting documentation must be received by 5:00 PM on Monday, April 10, 2017. Emailed applications will not be accepted.
b. To facilitate the process, the City has arranged for a dedicated contract staff member to assist applicants with questions and provide a courtesy screening of applications.
c. We strongly encourage applicants to take advantage of these dedicated services which will be available
on Tuesdays/Thursdays (8:30 am – 12:30 pm) and Wednesdays (1:30 pm – 5:00 pm).
d. While you may submit your application at any time during the City’s regular business hours, within the
dates noted above, you may find it more expeditious and convenient to make an appointment to submit
your application to our dedicated contract staff member.
