CITY OF ANAHEIM PUBLIC WORKS

RESIDENTIAL STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

january 2018 - february 2018

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Larkspur Neighborhood Residential Street Improvement Project will restore surface integrity, improve pavement driving surface and beautify the neighborhood. This neighborhood is bordered by Orchard Drive to the north, Oakwood Avenue to the east, Orangethorpe Avenue to the south, and Lakeview Avenue to the west.

As part of this project, 66,194 square feet of pavement will be replaced. Additionally, new pavement markings will be painted and new street signs will be installed. The total project cost is $130,379; $111,532 from Gas Tax and $18,847 from SB 1 funding.

Rebuilding California - SB 1

The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017- SB1

For cities, SB 1 will double the amount of revenues they each receive from the state for their local street maintenance and rehabilitation needs. Annually, $500 to $650 million will go to cities statewide, allocated
on a per capita basis. A vast majority of the new revenues for cities will come out of the newly created Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) where cities will have to prioritize fixing their existing infrastructure first before having some additional flexibility for those funds for other transportation needs.
