ANAHEIM, CALIF (May 3, 2018) – Anaheim Police Department Traffic Investigators have arrested a 47 year old male for the death of a pedestrian during a hit and run collision on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Kelven Ta was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a tip from the public led investigators to his vehicle in the 2100 block of W. Juno Avenue.
APD Officers were dispatched to Brookhurst Street south of Ball Road around 9:48 pm Saturday evening regarding a body in the roadway. Officers found a 54 year old male deceased in the roadway. Evidence suggested the male had been struck by a vehicle, possibly a silver Honda or Acura, but the driver and vehicle had fled the scene.
APD sought the public’s help through social media and the media in looking for a silver vehicle missing the driver’s side mirror, which led to the discovery of Ta’s 2002 silver Acura 3.2 TLS parked on Juno Avenue.
Ta has been booked for felony hit and run causing injury or death. He was booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility and was released on the statutorily imposed bond of $100,000 pending court proceedings.
