ANAHEIM, Calif. (May 23, 2018) — It’s that time of year again when our city leaders discuss and ultimately decide how to spend your tax dollars.
The City Council has been holding public workshops on the proposed $1.7 billion city budget. The workshops have included presentations from each city department on spending plans for the coming fiscal year.
Like the state of California and other cities, Anaheim operates on a fiscal year, and ours runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.
Anaheim’s budget makes your city what it is, and these spending decisions have a big impact on the lives of our residents, businesses and visitors.
That’s why we make it easy for the public to follow along and get involved.
You can view each of the City Council workshop videos and presentations online:
April 10 workshop: capital improvement program
April 24 workshop: user and development impact fee studies
May 8 workshop: citywide overview and administrative departments
May 15: Police and Fire departments
June 12: Community Services, Public Works and Public Utilities departments
There will be one more workshops on June 19, starting at 3 p.m. in the City Council chambers and broadcast live online here.
The City Council will consider the final budget approval at its regular meeting on June 19.
