ANAHEIM, CALIF (January 25, 2019) – Anaheim Police detectives have arrested Joshua Robert Dalton, 28, of Anaheim, after he was identified as the suspect on a video that showed him climbing on the hood of a woman’s vehicle and smashing her windshield with his fist. Dalton was arrested around 1:30 p.m. today without incident near his residence. He was booked into the Anaheim Detention Facility for felony vandalism and is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
At about 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the victim, a 34-year-old Anaheim woman, was driving in the area of State College Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue when she noticed a white Jeep Liberty following her and driving erratically. The driver of the Jeep drove in front of the victim’s vehicle and forced her to stop. At that point, the driver got out of the Jeep, climbed on the hood of the victim’s car and smashed her front windshield with his fist before returning to his Jeep and driving away.
The victim notified police immediately and reported that she had never seen the suspect before and that the incident was unprovoked. The victim was in her vehicle with a male friend, 49, and her two children, ages 12 and 13. No one was injured during the incident. The victim’s hood was dented and her windshield was shattered, causing an estimated $1,200 in damage. The victim video recorded the incident from inside her vehicle and posted the recording on social media.
