Mayor Sidhu: Our approach to stadium negotiations

Angels oped

Anaheim has  a once-in-a-generation chance to build on the legacy of baseball in our city.

As our City Council's designated representative on the city's negotiating team, Mayor Sidhu outlines guiding principles for negotiations in today's Orange County Register:

  • Negotiating on behalf of the people of Anaheim. While we welcome a broader conversation, we can never forget that our responsibility is to Anaheim residents.
  • Any land sales will be at appraised market value prices that reflect how the land might be used and any conditions that come with it.
  • Market rent, revenue sharing, or a combination of both for any lease of a city-owned stadium.
  • Protecting and enhancing Anaheim's general fund and the critical role it plays funding public safety and community services for Anaheim residents.
  • Creating ongoing revenue for public safety, community centers, libraries and services for generations to come.

You can read more at the Register here.
