ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 24, 2020) — A proposal from the Samueli Family, owners of the Anaheim Ducks and longtime operators of Honda Center, have come forward with a new proposal to develop a thriving hub of sports and entertainment around the arena.

H & S Ventures, a company of the Samuelis, submitted an initial vision for the development, called OC Vibe, to the city on June 23.

Plans call for shopping, dining, concert venues, park space, office and more on a 115-acre campus stretching from the ARTIC transit center north to Ball Road.

The plans fall in line with Anaheim’s vision for the Platinum Triangle, the area around the arena and the stadium, and complements plans announced a day earlier for a development around Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

The first phase of the development is slated to open in 2024 and the entire project is set to be completed in time for the 2028 Olympic Games, when Honda Center will host indoor volleyball.

The project would need several city approvals, including going before the Planning Commission and the City Council.
