Firefighters from all 11 fire departments of Orange County’s fire service agencies together with ABC 7, will be collecting toys and sports equipment this Friday, December 18 to make this holiday season special for those in need. The annual toy drive will again take place at Honda Center located at 2695 E. Katella Avenue, Anaheim from 4:30AM to 6:30PM.
The community is encouraged to bring new unwrapped toys or sports equipment and join Alysha Del Valle and Bri Winkler of ABC 7 who will be on-site to broadcast the event and greet the public, while firefighters from Orange County help collect and load the gifts. Also joining in the event is Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Thanks to Orange County’s generous spirit, last year a record-breaking 27 busses were filled with toys and bicycles. Together with our local firefighters, ABC 7, OCTA, Honda Center and Anaheim Ducks hope that this spirit continues and even more busses can be filled this year. Donations are also accepted at any of the fire stations in Orange County and will be delivered to the collection site.
Special treats will be available throughout the day for individuals dropping off gifts while supplies last. Farmer Boys will be providing breakfast sandwiches for the first 100 donors between 6:00AM and 10:00AM and Real Mex Restaurants will have restaurant coupons for donors starting at 10:00AM. 25 In-n-Out gift cards will be randomly distributed throughout the day.
The Orange County Toy Collaborative collects and distributes over 300,000 toys to children who would otherwise go without presents during the holidays. We again ask you to consider dropping off a new, unwrapped toy or piece of sports equipment at the Honda Center on December 18, or at any Orange County fire station through December 24.
