Fire Press Release.jpg

ANAHEIM, Calif. (January 12, 2016) – Anaheim Fire & Rescue, along with many other Orange County fire agencies will be participating in a large scale Swift Water Rescue drill along the Santa Ana Riverbed on Wednesday January 13, 2016.

The exercise is scheduled to begin at Anaheim Fire Station number 8 on Lakeview Avenue at 9:00 am and will travel the length of the Santa Ana River to the Pacific Ocean. Fire personnel from several fire agencies will be staged at various locations along the Santa River and will be simulating an actual rescue. Fire apparatus may be used to partially block traffic lanes briefly during the drill.

While these drills are important for first responders, they can also be hazardous to emergency personnel if drivers on the roadway do not pay close attention to their driving. Please drive carefully and pay attention to the roadway.
