THREE DOGS PERISH IN ANAHEIM BASEMENT FIRE

ANAHEIM, CA (March 28, 2017) – Approximately 30 Firefighters from Anaheim Fire & Rescue and Orange County Fire Authority extinguished a residential structure fire in the 200 block of N. Grand Ave in Anaheim Tuesday evening. At around 8:01 pm, fire units were dispatched to a single family residence on reports of a fire in the basement. Arriving units confirmed an active fire in the basement and immediately began attacking the blaze, which was extinguished in about 40 minutes. While the fire was contained to the basement, other parts of the residence suffered damage from smoke and radiant heat.

No injuries were reported, but three small dogs were found deceased. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
