Review of Anaheim police chiefs’ work hours concluded

city news block

ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 8, 2017) — A city review of the work hours of Anaheim’s police chief and deputy police chief has concluded.

An outside investigation done as part of the review found Police Chief Raul Quezada and Deputy Chief Dan Cahill did not violate city or Anaheim Police Department policies.

The investigation was led by employment lawyer Irma Rodriguez Moisa of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo.

The investigation did show inconsistency in how an internal policy was interpreted and implemented. The policy now is being updated.

The review resulted from an October 2016 written complaint from an employee.

“We appreciate this being brought to our attention and always encourage our employees to share any concerns,” said city spokesman Mike Lyster. “While this brings the review to a close, we will be updating our policy to ensure clarity.”

To respect all involved in a personnel matter, the city is unable to provide additional detail about the review.
