ANAHEIM FIRE & RESCUE TO BREAK GROUND ON FIRST NEW FIRE STATION IN LAST DECADE

Fire Press Release

ANAHEIM, CALIF – (JULY 18, 2017) – Anaheim Fire & Rescue is proud to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Fire Station 5, Wednesday July 19, 2017 at 10:00 am.  Media and members of the community are invited to join Anaheim City officials, Fire Chief Randy Bruegman, and the Anaheim Fire & Rescue family as we celebrate this momentous occasion.

This is the first new fire station to be built in Anaheim since 2007.  The site for the new Fire Station 5 is 2540 E. La Palma Ave and will replace the existing 56 year old station located at 1154 N. Kraemer Blvd.  “We continually evaluate our service delivery and this new station location was selected with our response times in mind.  The goal is to reduce area response times to four minutes or less” said Fire Chief Randy Bruegman.  The 9481 square foot building project will be managed by Anaheim Public Works and is being funded by bond sales from a 2014 bond sale to finance the expansion of the Anaheim Convention Center.

The estimated completion is June 2018.
