ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2017) — Homelessness is one of the most pressing and complex issues facing Anaheim.
As part of our ongoing effort to address homelessness, the City Council recently created a 14-member Homeless Policy Working Group to look at current and future polices.
The goal: make policy recommendations that compassionately address homelessness while also dealing with the concerns of our residents, neighborhoods and businesses.
The working group meets from now through October. The meetings are open to everyone, and we want to hear from you. Here are details on the next meeting:
The working group also is set to hold additional meetings in neighborhoods throughout the city.
For the group’s regular meeting schedule and updates about upcoming neighborhood meetings, visit Anaheim.net/homeless and click on Homeless Policy Working Group in the upper right.
There you also can find a list of working group members, agendas and audio recordings of meetings.
The working group is part of Anaheim’s comprehensive program to address homelessness.
Since 2014, Anaheim and nonprofit partner City Net have helped nearly 800 people off the streets by placing them in housing or reuniting them with family.
