Anaheim to Test the AlertOC County-wide Notification System
ANAHEIM, CA - (June 23, 2009) - June 24, 2009, residents in Anaheim may receive a TEST message from AlertOC.  This is only a test, and the message will be identified as such.  AlertOC is the county-wide mass notification system.  Should there be an actual emergency, AlertOC may be activated and instructions given on the recorded message in conjunction with Anaheim Alert.

In February, the City of Anaheim introduced Anaheim Alert, a new way for residents, businesses and visitors to stay informed of time-sensitive city information, via e-mail or cell phone text messages.  An opt-in text-based community notification system, Anaheim Alert messages include time-sensitive information related to unplanned road closures, power outages, event venue traffic congestion, fires, and natural disasters.  Users can choose from among the message categories in order to customize their account according to interest, location and need. With Anaheim Alert, messages and updates can immediately be sent to a large audience of users notifying them of important information.  Please visit www.AnaheimAlert.net for more information and to sign up for this valuable resource.
