ANAHEIM, CA - (June 30, 2009) - As we look forward to celebrating our nation's Independence Day, the City of Anaheim would like to invite residents and visitors to the 21st annual Stars and Stripes festivities at Peralta Park (115 N. Pinney Drive in east Anaheim), and Canyon High School (220 S. Imperial Hwy. in east Anaheim) hosted by the City of Anaheim, Canyon Hills Community Council and the Anaheim Hills Rotary Club. All events take place on July 4, and Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and the Anaheim City Council members plan to participate. The schedule of activities at Peralta Park and Canyon High School are listed below:
"Firecracker" 5 /10K Run - 2K Walk and Product/Health Fair 5:30 - 10:00 a.m. at Canyon High School Limited to 1,500 runners. Contact: Mary Witten 714-921-9621. Pancake Breakfast 8:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the Canyon High School Cafeteria Bring the family and friends to enjoy pancakes, sausage, orange juice and fresh coffee. Cost is $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for children under 12. Contact: Tony Siragusa 714-281-8930. Yankee Doodle Dog Show 10:00 a.m. at Canyon High School Six fabulous categories - Best Dressed Dog, Cutest Dog (35lb. & under), Best Trick, Owner Doggie Look-a-like, Bigger Cutest Dog (36lb. & over) and Yankee Doodle Dog. $10.00 entry fee per dog for the first category entered and $5.00 for each additional category.
