Spooktacular Halloween Parade and Family Festival Event Schedule and Road Closures
ANAHEIM, CA - (October 30, 2009) - It is the time of year to gather all the ghouls and goblins and grab a seat for the City of Anaheim’s annual Spooktacular Halloween Parade, featuring Grand Marshal SpongeBob SquarePants, and Family Festival, which takes place Saturday, Oct. 31 in Downtown Anaheim.  Admission is free.

SpongeBob SquarePants visits Anaheim and joins this year’s Spooktacular Halloween Parade courtesy of Time Warner Cable.  The parade is presented by The Disneyland Resort, KOCE-TV and Time Warner Cable  (for more information on SpongeBob SquarePants, please see below).

Anaheim’s Spooktacular Halloween Parade and Family Festival are traditions in the City.  Children are invited to attend the parade in costume.

The nighttime illuminated parade will be played on Anaheim Community Television (ACTV) Channel 3 in Anaheim, and on KOCE-TV’s OC channel starting Nov. 1.  Please check the local listing in your area for specific air times.

The parade will begin on the corner of Broadway and West Street, travel east on Broadway, then north on Anaheim Blvd, and finish at Lincoln Ave.  Structure and on-street parking will be available throughout Downtown Anaheim.

11:00 a.m.

Family Festival opens:  Featured activities will include live entertainment, game booths, food booths, and free admission to the MUZEO for up to four children when accompanied by a paid adult.

2:00 p.m.

Children’s Costume Contest (1 p.m. check-in)

4:30 – 6:00 p.m.

Trick-or-Treating in Downtown Anaheim

6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Spooktacular Halloween Parade:  Anaheim City Council members and local elected officials will join SpongeBob in the parade procession.  The parade will feature colorful floats, marching bands and drill teams, equestrian units, vintage cars, and special guests and honorees.  Prime parade viewing is available all along the two mile route.

6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

Haunted House (recommended for guests 12-years-and-older)
