ANAHEIM, CA - (April 9, 2010) - The City of Anaheim has announced the dates and locations of its quarterly District Neighborhood Council meetings for the spring season.  The meetings, which are open to the public, focus on the needs of individual neighborhoods, as well as foster community involvement.  This month representatives from various City departments, including Code Enforcement, Planning, Community Services and Police, will update attendees on a variety of subjects pertinent to the neighborhood districts. 

The District Neighborhood Council is part of the Anaheim Neighborhood Improvement Program that uses an inter-departmental approach to improve the livability of Anaheim’s neighborhoods.  Neighborhood improvement is accomplished by creating partnerships between neighborhood “stakeholders” (City departments, residents, property owners, school officials, the religious community, business community and non-profit organizations).  This partnership develops a long term vision for each neighborhood’s success. 

Tuesday, April 15, 7 p.m. – East District
The East District encompasses the area of Anaheim east of Rio Vista St.
Canyon High School Library

Wednesday, April 21, 7 p.m. – West District
The West District encompasses the area of Anaheim west of Euclid St., I-5 freeway at Brookhurst St.
West Anaheim Youth Center
320 S. Beach Blvd.

Wednesday, April 28, 7 p.m. – Central District
The Central District encompasses the area of Anaheim west of Rio Vista St., north of Ball Rd. and east of Euclid St., the I-5 freeway and Brookhurst St.
Downtown Community Center
250 E. Center St.

Thursday, April 29 7 p.m. – South District
The South District encompasses the area of Anaheim south of Ball Rd. and east of Euclid St.
Stoddard Elementary School
