| AC-NET Selects Finalists for 2010 Clean Tech Business Plan Competition | ||||||||||||

ANAHEIM, CA - (June 4, 2010) - Five Finalists to compete for a total of $40,000 in prizes on June 23, 2010 at CTSI’s Tech Connect World Conference and Expo
The final five teams in the Anaheim Center for New Energy Technologies (AC-NET) 2010 Clean Tech Business Plan Competition have been selected following a semifinal round of presentations held in Anaheim on May 20. The teams will compete for a total of $40,000 in prize money, with awards of $25,000, $10,000, and $5,000 awaiting the first, second, and third place finishers, respectively. The final five teams are EcoCover (Irvine, Calif.), Ener-G-Rotors (Schenectady, N.Y.), Flex Energy (Irvine, Calif.), Pace Controls (York, Pa.), and Prism Solar (Highland, N.Y.). "We are looking forward to the AC-NET presentations and the exciting opportunities that will result from their thoughtful and creative ideas," said City of Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle. "The AC-NET business plan competition has been a successful venture, and many of the projects will translate into thriving business enterprises." The final round of competition will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23 at the Anaheim Convention Center (800 W. Katella Ave.). As part of AC-NET’s partnership with the Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization, the competition will be held during the Tech Connect World Conference and Expo. Final round judges for the competition include: Andrea Cohen, Attorney, Morrison and Foerster; Lynn Foster, Founder and CEO of BPT Pharmaceuticals; Andrew Heckler, CEO of Brightfield Energy; Antony D.G. Jones, Ph.D., Manager, Environ International; and Brian Kremer, Senior Research Analyst, Roth Capital Partners. Speakers for the event include John Bock, Ph.D., Director, California State University Fullerton Center for Sustainability, and Gabriel Ayala, Vice President of Enovative Group and 2009 AC-NET Business Plan Competition second place finisher.
