|"My Downtown Anaheim" Video Contest Launches Today|
ANAHEIM, CA - (September 27, 2010) - "My Downtown Anaheim" video contest participants will have the opportunity to win an Apple iPad, starting today through Nov. 21, by submitting a video about their visit to Downtown Anaheim. As featured on the cover of the Fall 2010 Anaheim magazine, delivered to every home and business in the City, Anaheim Ducks’ player Corey Perry introduces the contest through a video accessed via smartphone and Smart tag technology on the cover, or by visiting the Downtown Anaheim Association website site at www.downtownanaheim.com.
This interactive and online contest invites the public to explore Downtown Anaheim and then film a 30 second video sharing their experience. Personal video equipment is not required. Contest participants will videotape their segment at a specially marked kiosk in Downtown Anaheim. Kiosk locations will vary throughout the duration of the contest and can be found by visiting www.mydowntownanaheim.com.
"The My Downtown Anaheim video contest creates an awareness of what Downtown Anaheim has to offer for residents and visitors," said Peter Comiskey, Director of the Downtown Anaheim Association. "Downtown Anaheim is more than just a business center. Visitors can eat at one of the many restaurants, visit an art gallery, attend the weekly Farmers’ Market, and so much more."
Smart tag viewing, such as the one featured on the cover of Anaheim magazine, requires the download of a Microsoft app onto one’s smartphone. The app will then direct users on how to view the Smart tag message.
Contest winners will be awarded their iPads and recognized at the Anaheim Ducks game on Dec. 12. The contest is open to residents and non-residents alike (Please note, City of Anaheim employees in the Community Development Department and External Affairs Division, as well as Downtown Anaheim Association employees are ineligible to participate).
The "My Downtown Anaheim" video contest is sponsored by the Downtown Anaheim Association. Submissions will be welcomed by any U.S. resident age 18 and over. For more information please call 714-956-3586. Complete contest details can be found at www.mydowntownanaheim.com.
