|Project Viewfinder Helps The Community Track Citywide Projects In Anaheim|
ANAHEIM, CA - (April 27, 2011) - Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology and the Internet, residents, business travelers and guests can now travel through Anaheim seamlessly, avoid traffic delays resulting from necessary roadwork or construction projects in Anaheim, and learn about any current citywide projects or those planned for the future.
Introducing Project ViewFinder, an online tool available at www.anaheim.net, providing information about what is being constructed today and what is planned for tomorrow. Coordination and reporting is current, giving Project ViewFinder visitors an accurate picture of what is occurring in Anaheim.
Not only are project managers able to share and coordinate project information – and avoid project conflict costs - but the public can learn why they need to slow for the Cone Zone, what the construction on “any” corner represents, and when it will be started/completed.
“We are excited to launch Project ViewFinder for our residents, businesses and guests,” said Natalie Meeks, Anaheim Director of Public Works. “We strive to be transparent with our information and our projects, and Project ViewFinder provides the friendly platform in which to do that. Now, anyone can learn about projects in their neighborhood or along their commute, and have a current glimpse into project details and timelines. We hope our citizens will find this a valuable tool.”
Currently, Anaheim has more than 260 projects either in Planning, Design or Construction, representing projects in electrical, sewer, storm drain, street, water, and miscellaneous projects. Project ViewFinder users can search projects according to type of project, or by location using a map of Anaheim.
This visual map represents a glimpse into the future of Anaheim, and it’s just a click away at www.anaheim.net.
