|Anaheim To Host Artic Pre-Bid Workshop For Interested Contractors|
ANAHEIM, CA - (April 3, 2012) - The City of Anaheim is moving one step closer to the groundbreaking for the Anaheim Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (ARTIC). ARTIC is envisioned as an iconic regional landmark and transportation facility where people will seamlessly move between transit services to reach Southern California activity centers and business districts. Upon completion ARTIC will increase mobility options for residents, business travelers and visitors to Anaheim, Orange County and the entire southern California region.
Construction is scheduled to begin this fall. The station will accommodate passenger arrivals, departures and transfers with supporting retail, restaurants and passenger services within the building. Groundbreaking for this iconic structure is expected this fall, with project completion the end of 2014.
The next step in the process is a pre-bid workshop for contractors. On Wednesday, May 2 the City will host an ARTIC Bid Workshop at 3 p.m. at the ARTIC job site. The ARTIC job site is located at 1750 S. Douglass Rd., at the southeast corner of Katella Avenue and Douglass Road and directly adjacent to the Santa Ana River.
This open house will provide interested bidders with an opportunity to network with other contractors , obtain project information and participate in a site walk in anticipation of the Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the construction contract for ARTIC. Attendance at the ARTIC Bid Workshop is not mandatory. Any individuals wishing to participate in the site walk must bring/wear protective clothing including: 1) hard hat, 2) safety vest and 3) steel-toed shoes. Absolutely no exceptions will be made. All participants must wear these items to participate in the site walk.
At the end of May, the City’s Department of Public Works will issue an IFB for all work associated with the implementation of ARTIC. Additional details can be accessed by visiting www.articinfo.com.
