| Anaheim’s Compost Giveaway Program Branches Out To Two Dates And Locations | ||||||||||||

ANAHEIM, CA - (April 9, 2012) - Anaheim’s annual Compost Giveaway is branching out to two dates and locations this year in response to the event’s popularity. Experienced and novice gardeners can receive up to 60 gallons of nutrient-rich compost/soil conditioner – for free.
The Compost Giveaway, a partnership between the City of Anaheim’s Public Works Department and Republic Services, is scheduled as follows, and will be held rain or shine – Saturday, April 14: 8:00 – 10:30 a.m. (or while the supply lasts) Saturday, April 21: 8:00 – 10:30 a.m. (or while the supply lasts) Residents are asked to bring their own containers or buckets (no bags please) to pick up the loose compost material. Proof of City of Anaheim residency will be required. Earth Machine compost bins and kitchen collector buckets will be available for residents seeking year-round benefits to home composting. The bin and bucket kit will be available to purchase for $20 (a $50 value). Cash or checks only will be accepted. For more information on the Compost Giveaway please call (714) 238-2444.
