|Anaheim Citizens Advisory Committee On Elections And Community Involvement Applications Available|
ANAHEIM, CA - (August 14, 2012) - Applications to participate on the recently announced Anaheim Citizens Advisory Committee on Elections and Community Involvement are now available at www.anaheim.net, or at the City Clerk’s office at Anaheim City Hall (200 S. Anaheim Blvd.). The applications may be completed online and returned through the City’s website, or paper copies can be picked-up and returned to the City Clerk’s office. The deadline for all applications is close of business on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
The City announced the formation of a Citizens Advisory Committee to promote the full participation of all residents, neighborhoods, community groups and ethnic groups in studying the City’s electoral system. The Committee will provide advice to the City Council on promoting the full participation of all voters in city elections, including recommendations on:
The Committee will report their findings and recommendations directly to the City Council. Proposed changes to the city’s governance structure will be placed on the June 2014 ballot to ensure that any organizational changes are effective by the next regular general municipal election in November 2014, if so desired by the electorate of Anaheim.
The City Clerk’s office is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. City Hall will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3 in observance of Labor Day.
