| Anaheim Mayor And City Council Approve Three Appointments To The City's Leadership Team | ||||||||||||

ANAHEIM, CA - (November 15, 2012) - Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait and the City Council unanimously approved three selections to the City’s executive leadership team, it was announced at the Nov. 13 City Council meeting. Paul Emery will join the City of Anaheim as Assistant City Manager, effective Dec. 17. Also announced were the promotions of Greg Garcia as Deputy City Manager, and John Woodhead as Community Development Director.
Emery brings 23 years of municipal government to Anaheim, working for the City of Santa Ana and most recently the City of Huntington Beach. Paul has more than seven years of experience working in the City Administrator’s Office, both as Deputy City Administrator and Interim City Administrator. California born and raised, Emery holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Davis. Emery and Garcia will work with City Manager Bob Wingenroth to administer the Mayor and Council’s policies, as well as work directly with Anaheim’s more than 340,000 residents, a vibrant business community, and more than 20 million guests who visit annually. Garcia joined Anaheim in 2005 and served as Deputy City Manager of Administration since 2010. He has also worked in the public sector at both the national and state levels. Garcia is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School and is a member of the California State Bar. Woodhead, a Loyola Law School graduate, joined Anaheim in 1997 after five years in private practice. He served as the Assistant City Attorney for the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency prior to assuming its leadership in 2011. Woodhead provided outstanding leadership and care as he resized and repositioned the Community Development Department to continue to successfully pursue economic development in Anaheim following the state mandated closure of Redevelopment Agencies.
