ANAHEIM, CA - (January 16, 2013) - Beginning tonight, Anaheim residents can get better acquainted with each other and with city staff at the January series of quarterly District Neighborhood Council Meetings. The meetings, hosted by the City of Anaheim, offer new and established residents a unique opportunity to know what is happening in their neighborhoods, share their ideas for neighborhood improvement, and meet city staff on a one-on-one basis. Representatives from various departments attend the meetings and look forward to joining with community members and hearing directly from residents.
The meetings, which are held in the West, East, Central and South districts of the City, are free and open to the public. Meetings dates are as follows: West District Neighborhood Council Meeting East District Neighborhood Council Meeting Central District Neighborhood Council Meeting South District Neighborhood Council Meeting The Anaheim Neighborhood Improvement Program, of which the District Meetings are a part, utilizes an inter-departmental approach to improve the livability of Anaheim’s neighborhoods. Utilizing four neighborhood districts and interdepartmental teams assigned to each district, neighborhood improvement is accomplished by creating partnerships between neighborhood “stakeholders” (City departments, residents, property owners, school officials, the religious community, business community and non-profit organizations). Neighborhood Councils bring people together to work on issues of concern and identify actions to be taken to address them.
