| Love Reading? Anaheim Public Library Has A Strong Foundation And Some Really Good Friends | ||||||||||||
|
ANAHEIM, CA - (February 14, 2013) - Anaheim Library card holders can now download eBooks to computers, tablets, eBook readers, or smartphones. This new service is available to the residents of Anaheim thanks to a generous donation from the Anaheim Public Library Foundation.
Not a card holder? It’s easy! To apply for a library card, and to browse the book collection, visit the Library’s website at http://library.anaheim.net. Due to the generosity of the Anaheim Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Anaheim Public Library and the Friends of the Canyon Hills Library, the Anaheim Public Library was able to purchase 12 new children’s early literacy ‘AWE’ workstations. These computers are preloaded with more than 35 educational games for children ages 3 to 8. The ‘AWE’ stations are constantly in use with children waiting. When parents are ready to leave the library and their child has to leave the ‘AWE’ station often the child wants to stay longer to enjoy the experience. Anaheim Libraries could not offer these wonderful services without the support of the Anaheim Public Library Foundation. You can show your support for this hard-working group by purchasing a ticket to their 18th annual Mystery Authors Luncheon and Silent Auction. This year’s event, themed “Down These Mean Streets”, is scheduled for Sunday, March 17th at the Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort. Scheduled guest mystery authors are Miles Corwin, John Lescroart, and Dennis Palumbo. Tickets are $55 per person, or $500 for a table of ten, and proceeds benefit Anaheim Libraries. Checks can be mailed to the Anaheim Public Library Foundation, P.O. Box 17355 Anaheim, CA 92817 or call the business office at 714-765-1810 to reserve your seat now. To support any of the above service groups, please contact 714-765-1810 to learn how to join the Friends of the Anaheim Public Library, Anaheim Public Library Foundation or Friends of the Canyon Hills Library.
