Anaheim Citizens Advisory Committee On Elections And Community Involvement To Hold Meeting On February 21
Meeting to be held at Ponderosa Family Resource Center
ANAHEIM, CA - (February 19, 2013) - The Anaheim Citizens Advisory Committee on Elections and Community Involvement (CAC) invites the community to attend its next scheduled meeting on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

The CAC meeting will take place at Ponderosa Family Resource Center, 2100 Haster St., Anaheim, CA 92802. The meeting agenda and related items are posted online at www.anaheim.net/CACElections.

Guest speakers for the Jan. 31 meeting will include presentations by the following: Neal Kelley, Orange County Registrar of Voters; Linda Andal, City Clerk for the City of Anaheim; and Aly Zimmermann, Assistant City Manager for the City of Vista.

Spanish language translation services are available at all CAC meetings upon request. Alternate language translation services are available for CAC meetings by calling 714-765-5162 at least 48 hours in advance.

CAC meetings, which include a time for public comments, are recorded and available for viewing online at www.anaheim.net/CACElections and on the City of Anaheim local access channel, ACTV Channel 3. Future meeting information will be posted online at www.anaheim.net/CACElections.

The purpose of the CAC is to promote the full participation of all residents, neighborhoods, community groups and ethnic groups relating to the City’s electoral system. The CAC, scheduled to meet on a monthly basis at locations throughout the City, will report its findings and recommendations directly to the City Council by May 31, 2013, including recommendations on:

  • Potential changes in the City’s election systems;
  • How to encourage voter registration;
  • How to identify and engage community groups in elections and in local government decision making;
  • Language assistance programs; and
  • Other techniques to promote full participation in the electoral process.
