|Anaheim Outdoors Connectivity Plan Website Wins Award Of Excellence|
As the City plans its future urban landscape, residents are encouraged to participate
ANAHEIM, CA - (March 11, 2013) - The Anaheim Outdoors Connectivity Plan website (www.anaheimoutdoors.net) recently received an Award of Excellence from the California Park and Recreation Society (CPRS), in the category of Marketing and Communications. The award was presented this past weekend at the 2013 California and Pacific Southwest Recreation and Park Training Conference in San Jose, CA.
The Anaheim Outdoors Connectivity Plan is a citywide project aimed at creating green space in the City, and residents are encouraged to participate in current and future planning of outdoor space in Anaheim.
On Thursday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m. the City will host a public input meeting concerning the northern extension of Anaheim Coves at Burris Basin. The meeting will take place at Rio Vista Elementary School, 310 N. Rio Vista, Anaheim, CA 92806. Residents and business owners are invited to participate in the first project being planned as a result of the Anaheim Outdoors Connectivity Plan
The Anaheim Outdoors Connectivity Plan will help the City of Anaheim increase open space, increase non-vehicular opportunities, and ultimately improve the health of the residents of Anaheim. The ‘Anaheim Outdoors - It’s Your Backyard’ brand represents active recreation and encourages residents to feel comfortable in the outdoors, as if they are in their own backyard. The Plan website also offers residents the opportunity to provide input on this important citywide plan.

The California Park and Recreation Society presented awards in five categories:
