ANAHEIM/OC JOB FAIR AND EXPO SET FOR JUNE 19 AT THE ANAHEIM CONVENTION CENTER
Fifth annual free event will connect job seekers and employers; hiring incentives available
ANAHEIM, CA - (June 6, 2013) - The 2013 Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo, to be held on Wednesday, June 19 at the Anaheim Convention Center, will celebrate its fifth anniversary of offering jobs, job assistance and career development resources to thousands of Southern California residents seeking employment or career growth.

More than 150 employers offering 2,500 jobs are expected to participate and meet one-on-one with job seekers at the event. In addition, job seekers can take advantage of career skills workshops, resume reviews and access to free Wi-Fi throughout the venue. A special workshop titled, “Transitioning American Heroes” will be provided to veterans to help them successfully transition to jobs as civilians. Admission and parking to the Job Fair are free.

Resources for military veterans as well as hiring incentives from Anaheim’s Enterprise Zone designation will also be available to both job seekers and employers. The Enterprise Zone program, established by the State of California, serves to stimulate economic growth by providing tax credits for businesses located within the Enterprise Zone boundaries.

“The Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo is a tremendous opportunity for both those seeking employment and business leaders interested in hiring quality applicants,” said Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait. “When job seekers and employers have the opportunity to meet face to face it creates a stronger connection, and good things will happen. My thanks to all involved for facilitating this opportunity. I encourage anyone looking for a job or looking to hire employees to attend this event.”

“The good news is the economy is finally turning around but Anaheim residents still suffer from nearly nine percent unemployment,” said Council Member Kris Murray. “I am committed to policies that will grow jobs for residents in Anaheim and throughout Orange County. That is why I am thrilled to Chair this year’s Anaheim/Orange County Job Fair; connecting employers with prospective candidates and bringing much needed jobs to our region.”

Job seekers are encouraged to pre-register at www.AnaheimJobs.com. Employers can reserve free booth space in advance, but must register online at www.AnaheimJobs.com by June 12. In addition, www.AnaheimJobs.com serves as a year-round resource for job seekers to find employment in Anaheim, and for employers to post job openings.

The Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo is proudly supported by the City of Anaheim, Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, Anaheim Workforce Investment Board which oversees AnaheimJobs, County of Orange, Orange County Workforce Investment Board, Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board, Employment Development Department, Orange County Business Council, Orange County Register and Monster.com, Anaheim Convention Center, The Disneyland® Resort, Working Wardrobes, Freeman, Popular Community Bank, Anaheim Public Utilities, Orange County Business Council, Fullerton Chamber of Commerce, Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce, Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce, and Irvine Chamber of Commerce.
