Chili Cook-Off and Book Fair to raise funds for programs benefitting Anaheim residents
ANAHEIM, CA - (September 16, 2013) - The 22nd annual Anaheim Transportation Fair and Chili Cook-off, taking place on Wednesday, Sept. 18 in Downtown Anaheim, is a fun and tasty way to support local community initiatives. And for only $1 you will receive two chili ‘tastings’ and help city nonprofit organizations at the same time! The event is open to the public.
This year’s theme – “Ridesharing Gets In Shape” - was inspired by the City’s aim for fitness and health. Fifteen chili booths and 21 community exhibitor booths will be at the Center Street Promenade, Downtown Anaheim from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Booths are colorfully and decoratively themed, and fun is had by all.
But the Transportation Fair doesn’t end with the last drop of chili. It continues with a Book Fair on October 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the first floor lobby of City Hall, located at 200 South Anaheim Blvd. Books for all ages, plus craft projects and gift items, are available for purchase.
All of the proceeds from the Transportation Fair benefit the Anaheim Community Foundation/Oak Canyon Nature Center, the Anaheim Library Foundation/Books to Read for Kids in Need, and the American Lung Association/SCAMP Camp.
The Transportation Fair is sponsored by the City of Anaheim, Public Works Transportation Center and is celebrating California Rideshare Week, which is October 7-11. For additional information on the 22nd Annual Transportation Fair, please call the City of Anaheim Transportation Center at (714) 765-Kars (5277).
