ANAHEIM, CA - (June 12, 2014) - The sixth annual 2014 Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo may be in the books, but thousands of job seekers continue to review their new and improved resumes as well as honing their special skill sets based on advice offered at the breakout sessions. In addition, employers are looking forward to meeting their prospective employees based on interviews set up at yesterday’s free Job Fair.

It’s a sign the economy is improving: More jobs were available this year than in any of the previous five Job Fairs. More than 3,500 jobs were offered by the 215 employers who were present at their information booths, and more than 2,000 job seekers attended yesterday’s event held at the internationally-recognized Anaheim Convention Center.

The Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo offers both job seekers and employers a unique opportunity to connect face-to-face – an advantage over simply submitting resumes online – at no cost to the job seeker or the employers. The entire event is free.

This year’s Job Fair offered tailored services for veterans. In fact, Billy Ernst, a Navy veteran, attended yesterday’s event to look for a job and to learn what possibilities might exist for someone in his position. He left with three job interviews lined up. Click here to see his story.

The 2014 Job Fair and Expo was fully supported by the Mayor and City Council, and was led by Mayor Pro Tem Kris Murray.

The 2014 Job Fair sponsors included: City of Anaheim; Anaheim Chamber; AnaheimJobs; Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board; Orange County; Workforce Investment Board; County of Orange; Anaheim Convention Center; EDD; OCRegister.com; Monster.com; Anaheim/OC Visitor & Convention Bureau; Goodwill of Orange County; Disneyland Resort; Aramark; Freeman; Anaheim Public Utilities.
