ANAHEIM, CA - (August 18, 2014) -

The City of Anaheim is updating its Bicycle Master Plan, and the community is invited to offer their feedback either online or by attending any of the upcoming special community meetings.

Online, residents can visit www.anaheim.net/anaheimoutdoors to access the Bicycle Master Plan webinar, participate in an online survey and to learn more about how the City is seeking to enhance non-motorized connections throughout Anaheim through its Anaheim Outdoors Connectivity Plan.

Residents can also attend any of the following community meetings this week, as listed below.  All meetings will begin at 7 p.m.
     • West: Monday, August 18, West Anaheim Youth Center, 320 S. Beach Blvd.
     • South: Tuesday, August 19, Euclid Library, 1340 S. Euclid St.
     • Central: Wednesday, August 20, Downtown Anaheim Community Center, 250 E. Center St.
     • East: Tuesday, August 26, Canyon Hills Library, 400 S. Scout Trail

Key objectives of the Anaheim Outdoors Connectivity Plan are to identify opportunities to create a minimum of 100 acres of new public green space throughout the City, and reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions to levels consistent with the California Global Warming Act of 2006. By providing improved bike routes and walkways that encourage alternative modes of transportation, overall personal health and fitness can be improved and GHG emissions associated with automobiles will be reduced.
