Public Power Week 2012

Anaheim Public Utilities is proud to celebrate Public Power Week, a nationwide event, from October 7-13th. Members of the community—schools, residents, and businesses—are invited to attend a one-day event at our Downtown Anaheim Farmers Market on October 11th from 12-3 p.m. Visitors can explore equipment displays, play games and win prizes, learn about available energy efficient rebates and incentives, and check out the latest in electric plug-in vehicles. One of the most popular attractions allows visitors to ride and rise 60 feet in the air in one of our electric bucket trucks. Hope to see you there!

As one of the only publicly owned utilities in Orange County, there are benefits for being Anaheim-owned and Anaheim-focused:
• Publicly owned utilities are a not-for profit utility, which have helped to keep our rates at some of the lowest in the county
• Our board members must be Anaheim residents, and they provide oversight of our policies, practices, and rates
• Rates are set in a public forum and locally controlled
• Community concerns are directly addressed by the utility’s executive team, and ultimately;
• There is direct public accountability to our voters
