A discussion of issues that our youth struggle with, and healthy ways to support them through difficulty. This workshop focuses on ways that parents, caregivers, and/or support networks can have open communication with youth who may be at risk. With the recent television depictions of teenage suicide and self-harm, parents and support networks would benefit from gaining insight on how to approach their struggling teenager. Participants will begin to identify the warning signs of at risk youth, learn ways to facilitate open communication, and understand strategies to maintain healthy and safe boundaries. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of how to help their teen transition successfully into adulthood.
