Center Gallery 2021 Young Artist Showcase

The inaugural 2021 Young Artist Showcase is a virtual art show featuring the creative works of Anaheim residents and students in grades 7-12. Each month, we will feature the works of artists/students from various Anaheim Junior High and High Schools. Please join us this month, virtually on social media, as we exhibit talented artists from Sycamore Junior High School every Tuesday, throughout February. Follow Anaheim Community Services on Instagram and Facebook @Anaheimplays, and Center Gallery's Facebook to view Autumn, Maya, and Pluto's works each week. VIRTUAL: Artist Talks with Poet Hieu Minh Nguyen

Tune in to hear from the award-winning poet Hieu Minh Nguyen. A queer Vietnamese American poet and performer based in Oakland is a recipient of 2017 NEA fellowship for poetry, Hieu is a Kundiman fellow, a poetry editor for Muzzle Magazine, and an MFA graduate of Warren Wilson College. His work has appeared in PBS Newshour, POETRY Magazine, Gulf Coast, BuzzFeed, Poetry London, Nashville Review, Indiana Review, and more. His debut collection of poetry, This Way to the Sugar (Write Bloody Publishing, 2014) was named a finalist for both the Lambda Literary Award and the MN Book Award. His second collection of poetry, Not Here, is forthcoming with Coffee House Press in 2018. This is part of the California Humanities’ Library Innovative Lab grant, which made it possible to implement humanities and cultural programs to celebrate the immigrant communities.
