Anaheim Housing Authority

The Anaheim Housing Authority provides a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program with preference to veterans that live and/or work in Anaheim. The HCV Program currently provides 311 vouchers to veterans out of a total 6,000 vouchers. In addition, veterans currently on the waiting list are given preference.

Homeless Voucher Set-Aside Preference

Preference is given to homeless veterans who lived and/or worked in Anaheim. Case management, and support services are provided by City staff and nonprofit organizations.

Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Voucher Program

This program combines the HCV Program rental assistance for homeless veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the VA.

HomeAid: Orange County Chapter

HomeAid Orange County is a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit organization that builds and renovates shelters for those in Orange County who find themselves homeless due to sudden job loss, catastrophic illness, spousal desertion and domestic violence.

National Call Center for Homeless Veterans Hotline

The Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) has founded a National Call Center for Homeless Veterans hotline to ensure that homeless Veterans or Veterans at-risk for homelessness have free, 24/7 access to trained counselors. The hotline is intended to assist homeless Veterans and their families, VA Medical Centers, federal, state and local partners, community agencies, service providers and others in the community. National Coalition of Homeless Veterans

The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a 17-member board of directors - is the resource and technical assistance center for a national network of community-based service providers and local, state and federal agencies that provide emergency and supportive housing, food, health services, job training and placement assistance, legal aid and case management support for hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans each year.

The Orange County Partnership mission is to effectively end homelessness in Orange County over the next decade. We will foster collaboration and partnerships to end homelessness in Orange County.

VA Specially Adapted Housing Grants

Veterans or service members who have specific service-connected disabilities may be entitled to a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for the purpose of constructing an adapted home or modifying an existing home to meet their adaptive needs. The goal of the Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Grant Program is to provide a barrier-free living environment that affords the veterans or service members a level of independent living he or she may not normally enjoy.

Veterans First

Veterans First is a 501(c)(3) agency in Orange County that works to provide services exclusively to our region's homeless and at-risk veterans. Our organization provides a multitude of services including housing, meals, case management, life skills, mental health counseling, benefit counseling, transportation, as well as job training and employment placement assistance.
