Ms. Norma E. Martinez is proud to lead Centralia School District as its new superintendent. Education is her passion and she is proud that her career has focused on helping school systems improve the instructional program for students and reach new levels of achievement. She is starting her 27th year in education; three as an instructional assistant and 24 in various teaching or administrative capacities in three different school districts. In 2010, Ms. Martinez began working for Centralia School District as the principal of Centralia Elementary. During her tenure as principal, she celebrated with staff the accomplishments of significant student academic growth resulting in designation as a California Title I Achieving School and an Orange County Human Relations Commission Distinguished School.

Ms. Martinez is a graduate of Anaheim High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Child Development from Cal State Fullerton. She holds a Master’s Degree in School Administration from National University. She also holds a Bilingual, Multiple Subject teaching credential and a credential in School Administration. Ms. Martinez is a life-long learner and has attended various ACSA Academies, including the Superintendents’ Academy.

Ms. Martinez is honored to represent the Board of Trustees and support interagency collaboration to ensure a safe community for the students and families in the Centralia School District.
