The temporary relief from the City’s Special Event Permit requirements and outdoor dining standards that have allowed restaurants and other businesses to create or expand temporary outdoor dining operations will end on July 15, 2022. All temporary outdoor operations, such as outdoor dining and retail areas, must be removed.
In anticipation of this, the City Council adopted an ordinance that provides regulatory relief for restaurants who wish to install a permanent outdoor dining area adjacent to their restaurant. These new standards allow restaurants located within a Large Commercial Shopping Center to convert up to three parking spaces to outdoor dining with certain requirements.
