ANAHEIM, CA - (April 23, 2015) - David Belmer will join the City of Anaheim as Planning Director, effective May 26, it was approved and announced at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting. Belmer brings more than 25 years of experience in municipal government, including his most recent position of Assistant City Manager/Director of Economic Development and Community Preservation for the City of Lake Forest, to Anaheim’s residential, business and tourist communities.
Belmer’s experience also includes Community Development Director with the City of Cypress, and various Economic Development, Redevelopment, Code Enforcement and Planning positions with the City of Garden Grove.
“We are pleased to welcome David Belmer to the City of Anaheim,” said interim City Manager Paul Emery. “His experience will serve our constituents well, and we look forward to building upon and enhancing existing services. This is an exciting time in our city, and under his department leadership we will continue to help our residents and businesses achieve their goals for living and business success in Anaheim.”
Anaheim’s Planning Department manages the City’s Building and Permit division, Business Licenses, Code Enforcement, and Planning and Zoning. Current projects include improving Beach Boulevard, operating a successful business assistance program, a business concierge service for small and large construction projects, and maintaining a vibrant community preservation division to preserve and enhance the quality of life in Anaheim.
