ANAHEIM, Calif. (May 23, 2018) — It’s that time of year again when our city leaders discuss and ultimately decide how to spend your tax dollars.
The City Council has been holding public workshops on the proposed $1.9 billion city budget. The workshops have included presentations from each city department on spending plans for the coming fiscal year.
Like the state of California and other cities, Anaheim operates on a fiscal year, and ours runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.
Anaheim’s budget makes your city what it is, and these spending decisions have a big impact on the lives of our residents, businesses and visitors.

April 10 workshop: capital improvement program
April 24 workshop: user and development impact fee studies
May 8 workshop: citywide overview and administrative departments
May 15: Police and fire departments
June 12: Community Services, Public Works and Public Utilities departments
June 12: Convention, Sports and Entertainment, Community and Economic Development and Planning and Building Departments
The City Council approved the final budget approval at its regular meeting on June 19.
