ANAHEIM, Calif. (April 22, 2021) — All Anaheim residents age 16 and older are now eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccination.
The county of Orange, in partnership with the city of Anaheim, as well as pharmacies, private clinics and doctor's offices are distributing vaccines authorized by the Food and Drug Administration to fight COVID.
Appointments are available based on vaccine supply. As more supply comes to the county, we expect to see more availability to the general public.
If you have not already done so, please register at Othena.com to get in the virtual queue to get a vaccine from a county distribution site, including Anaheim's Super POD at Anaheim Convention Center.
Appointments are also available at local pharmacies and even Costco. It may also be worthwhile to check with your doctor, as many hospitals and doctor's offices also have access to vaccine supply separate from what the county receives.
Vaccines keep you from getting sick, stop the spread of the virus and help us get back to normal.
There's a lot of talk and even misinformation surrounding COVID-19 vaccines. But rest assured: Vaccines are safe.
The vaccine does not contain the virus. It will not give you COVID-19.
The vaccine contains the biological blueprint to create a harmless protein associated with coronavirus, which then helps your body learn how to fight the virus.
The vaccines have been carefully evaluated in clinical trials.
Of the tens of thousands of shots given out in Anaheim so far, we've had no major issues and very few reactions. Paramedics are always on hand in the rare case there is a reaction.
Help us beat COVID and keep Anaheim safe. Make your appointment now.
