ANAHEIM, Calif. (Sept. 22, 2022) — A 33-year-old Anaheim resident has turned himself in to Anaheim Police in connection with a viral video depicting animal abuse against a dog.

Albert Frank Abad Jr. was arrested and booked into Anaheim jail on suspicion of animal cruelty early Thursday morning.

Abad, pictured here, was identified by Anaheim Police as the man depicted in the video kicking and punching a dog in the hallway of the Gateway Apartment Homes near Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

A felony arrest warrant was issued for Abad on Wednesday for suspicion of animal cruelty.

Anaheim Police detectives recovered the dog seen in the video on Thursday morning. The all-black Labradoodle goes by "Steeler" and is relatively unharmed and now is being cared for by a veterinarian and Orange County Animal Control.albert abad

The arrest stems from a Sept. 15 video from a doorbell camera that received widespread attention on social media and TV news.
