ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 12, 2023) — Anaheim Public Libraries are extending their operating hours for the community beginning July 1, 2023.
Central Library, East Anaheim, and Haskett Branch will be adding Sundays to their open days of operation, which has not been part of APL’s open hours since 2008. Central Library will be open from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m., East Anaheim and Haskett Branch will be open from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Canyon Hills Branch and Sunkist Branch are adding Saturday hours to their weekly schedule and will be open 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
“The expansion of hours across the Anaheim Public Library system allows additional opportunities for community members to access our award-winning services and resources within their weekly schedules,” Audrey Lujan, City Librarian, said.
The additional expansion of hours comes after a City Council vote on February 28, 2023, calling for an increase in library operation hours. City council members voted 6-1 to add 1.5 million dollars to the library’s operating budget to allow an expansion of hours that would cover facilities, staff, and programming costs.
